Lactic Acid belongs to the alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) group and is a naturally occurring carboxylic acid that’s found in many foods. It’s a chemical exfoliant which works by breaking down and dissolving the bonds of the dead skin cells without causing sensitivity. This aids in the removal of dull, rough skin and encourages cellular renewal. Lactic acid helps to improve the texture of the skin, fight fine lines and reduce dark spots.
Glycolic Acid belongs to the alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) group and it’s popular for its exfoliating properties and unclogging ability. It’s usually derived from sugarcane. While some skin treatments focus and cleanses the upper layer of the skin, glycolic acid has a smaller molecular weight and, therefore, can actually go deeper and really unclog pores.
Sodium Hyaluronate, a salt form of hyaluronic acid. It is considered more effective for skin than pure hyaluronic acid due to its greater compatibility with the skin. It keeps cells well hydrated and plump to avoid dehydration and wrinkling.
Hydrolysed Hyaluronic Acid is a low molecular weight hyaluronic acid that plumps, hydrates and illuminates the skin.
